A pothole in India’s tech capital made it to the list of Google Map landmarks, before being removed from the location list after Twitter had a field day. The pothole, referred to as Abizer’s pothole, in the Bellandur area and also had some reviews from citizens on Google.
Bengaluru's potholes are frequently at the centre of residents' problems, and despite local officials having been criticised several times for them, the pothole issue persists. In an effort to draw attention to the pothole problem, locals started geotagging one particular pothole on Google Maps. Before they realised it, the pothole started receiving evaluations.
A social media user, in a post, shared pictures of ‘Abizer’s pothole’ in Bengaluru’s Bellandur. However, while the location was later removed by Google, Twitter users had a field day. Twitter user Nimo Tai (@CrypticMiind) posted screenshots of a Google location that was simply a pothole.

The Bellandur area in southeast Bengaluru is listed as the address for Abizer's Pothole, which has been registered as a historical site in Bengaluru. Pictures of ‘Abizer’s pothole’, with Google Maps showing its location in Bengaluru’s Bellandur, went viral on social media. The location was logged as a "historical landmark in Bengaluru, Karnataka".

a great idea to pin it on Google. Could've named it after the local corporator or MLA/MP. Let them have their day on Google as well when their pothole tops search results😂

“In Bangalore, Potholes are landmarked on Google and have reviews,” the user wrote while sharing some reviews of Abizer’s pothole. One of the Google map reviews read, “Very good pothole. Must visit at least once. Guaranteed to hit your chassis in the right places.”
The Karnataka High Court issued a warning to the BBMP on Monday, noting the dire state of Bengaluru's roads and urging them to take significant action to fill in the city's potholes. "You make the urgency clear. Inform the BBMP Commissioner of the gravity and severity of the problem. We are still serious even though we are not chanting," according to the high court.
