Supporters of CAA and NRC were brutally thrashed by police following the violation of permission conditions. The supporters who were asked not to take out a rally near SNR District Hospital Circle did not care for police warnings. As a result, police used lathis to disperse the mob.

Kolar: The district police on Saturday (January 4) thrashed supporters of CAA who had gathered near SNR District Hospital Circle despite a police warning.

The angered supporters raised slogans against SP Karthik Reddy and Kolar deputy commissioner J Manjunath for beating up supporters.

The event was organised by the Kolar District BJP unit to raise awareness about CAA and NRC.

Following the accusations from CAA supporters, the DC and the SP have said that the district administration was forced to lathi-charge workers of different organisations for violating restrictions. Officials say the permission for the rally was restricted to a few areas, and despite the warning, the supporters tried to enter prohibited areas and hence, action was initiated.
