Bengaluru: Many poor go to sleep without food, despite initiatives like Indira Canteen and Appaji Canteen. To bridge this gap and ensure at least the street vendors in surrounding areas get quality food like they do, Jain Seva Sangh serves quality food for 1000 persons on Sundays and public holidays.

The initiative by Jain Seva Sangh of Nagarathpet has entered its 10th year of service.

The Sangh members say they get satisfaction by feeding vendors of City Market and surrounding areas as they have seen them toiling and going without food.

High quality of rice items and sweet is served and the leftovers and plates are disposed of by roping in BBMP pourakarmikas

This apart, the association reaches out to hospitals and orphanages here and provides blankets and fruits.
