Small town Kolar in south Karnataka has thrown up a surprise by remaining free of COVID-19 infections. Despite being surrounded by coronavirus hotspots, the district has ensured that not a single person from the district is infected.

From not allowing any vehicle from outside the district and by putting travellers into quarantine, the spread of infection in the district has been stopped.

The entire safety operation is spearheaded by Dr Charini, district surveillance officer and deputy commissioner.
