Google is planning to roll out a new security feature; here's what you need to know

A report by PC World stated that Google is planning to develop a new security feature. In that report, Mark Risher, director of product management for identity and user security at Google, said, "Automatically enrolling users in 2SV (what Google calls 2FA) if their accounts are appropriately configured." Though, it is also mentioned that users may opt out of the situation.

"More factors means stronger protection, but we need to ensure users don't get accidentally locked out of their accounts. That's why we are starting with the users for whom it'll be the least disruptive change and plan to expand from there based on results," added Risher.

He also mentioned that "passwords are the single best threat to your security" because users tend to forget their passwords or hackers steal them, making those accounts vulnerable, giving access to the wrong hands.

Now, Google is trying to secure your account with this new feature, 'two-factor authentication', which means it will add a second layer of protection to your accounts. It will send you a code that will be needed to log in when a different device will try to enter your account, but it's not under default; it's optional.
