In a crucial development which strengthens the conspiracy angle in the Kochi actress attack case, the police have acquired video footage of Pulsar Suni making phone calls from jail.

Visuals of Suni, the prime accused in the case, making phone calls from his cell were recorded by a CCTV camera installed at the Kakkanad district jail. The jail authorities handed over the footage to the probe team earlier today. Some of the prisoners have also told the police that they heard Suni speaking over the phone from his cell.

Suni's cellmate Jinson alias Jins had earlier told the police that Suni had made phone calls from the jail. However, there was no proof at the time to follow that lead.

The visuals showing Suni making phone calls from jail will be crucial to the case's further developments. The probe team on Monday claimed that Suni had called Nadirshah three times from jail, while he also got in touch with Dileep's manager Appunni. 

The footage from jail, which has been sent for forensic inspection, strengthens the police's claim. DGP Loknath Behera on Monday hinted at the possibility of certain arrests soon.

Meanwhile, two wardens at the Aluva sub-jail have been disciplined over the publication of photos of an accused in the actress attack case. 

Photos of driver Martin, one of the accused, sitting in the front row of the audience at the jail day celebrations in February were carried in the media.

Wardens Mohammad Sadiq and KG Abhyun Kumar have been transferred to the viyyor central jail. However, there are reports that the two warderns were made scapegoats to protect some top officers.
