A woman committed suicide after facing humiliation from money lenders. The 48-year-old from Kayamkulam was found hanging inside her house on Monday evening.

Relatives of Radhamani, the deceased, have filed a police complaint against two women from Puthiyavila, who are allegedly into money lending. Jaya, her sister and their partner had visited Radhamani at her home at Pattoli Market just before the incident.

Radhamani had borrowed ₹1 lakh from the sisters who asked her to repay double the amount adding interest and compound interest. Though the victim asked for more time, the lenders were in a hurry.

They told her either to pay back the money or to face the consequence. Unable to bear the humiliation Radhamanu committed suicide, the neighbours said.

Police have faced a case against Jaya and other two women.
