4.14 PM: 10-year-old boy found dead in Wayanad

A 10-year-old boy was found hanging dead in Meppadi, Wayanad. The deceased was identified as Babylesh of Chempothara Colony, Meppadi. He was found hanging from the kitchen window of the house. Though he was brought to the government hospital in Kalpetta his life could not be saved. He is the son of Sunitha and Binu.

From February 27 to 29, 2024, the maximum temperature in Kollam and Kottayam districts is likely to rise to 38 degrees Celsius, and in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts, the maximum temperature is likely to rise to 37 degrees Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kannur districts is likely to rise up to 36 °C (2 - 4 °C above normal). Due to high temperature and humid air, these districts, except hilly areas, are likely to experience very hot and unsettled weather from February 27 to 29, 2024, the warning said.

In response to Muvattupuzha MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan's claims that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan offered Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd., which is involved in the monthly pay scam, undue privileges, the Congress has sought a CBI investigation. The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, K Sudhakaran, and opposition leader, V D Satheesan, asked that the chief minister step down from his position and cooperate with the investigation during a joint news conference on Tuesday. The Muvattupuzha MLA received support from the party as well.

A man lost his life in yet another incident of a wild elephant attack in the state on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Suresh Kumar (Mani, 45), hailing from Kanimala Estate in Munnar. Meanwhile, two others also suffered injuries in the same incident. UDF and LDF announced hartal on Tuesday in Kannan Devan Hills village.

PM Narendra Modi will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram today and will visit Vikram Sarabhai Space centre (VSSC). He will also take part in the final leg of Kerala BJP's Padayatra. three important space infrastructure projects will be inaugurated during his visit to Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. The projects include the PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota; new ‘Semi-cryogenics Integrated Engine and stage Test facility’ at ISRO Propulsion Complex at Mahendragiri; and ‘Trisonic Wind Tunnel’ at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram. These three projects providing world-class technical facilities for the space sector have been developed at a cumulative cost of about Rs. 1800 crore.
