BREAKING: ED raids MUDA office, Mysuru in corruption case involving Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office amid a corruption investigation involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The agency is probing illegal site allotments and money laundering, with additional raids on a landowner’s residence and the Mysuru Tehsildar office. Cooperation with the investigation is promised.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a raid at the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office following the commencement of a major investigation. This development has added pressure on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who now faces serious allegations related to a corruption case.

A team of over 20 ED officials arrived at the MUDA office to conduct thorough searches for relevant documents. The agency is investigating claims of illegal site allotments, money laundering, and land grabbing associated with MUDA. The case, which has already implicated several individuals, including CM Siddaramaiah and other officials, is gaining traction after the statement of complainant Snehamai Krishna.

The ED's investigation is focused on verifying site allotment documents linked to the case. Before this raid, the agency had issued three notices and one summons requesting essential documents concerning the alleged scam. The ED's scrutiny is not limited to Mysuru; they have also initiated investigations in Bengaluru.

Following raids on the MUDA office, ED conducted raids on the residence of Devaraj in Kengeri, along with the Mysuru Tehsildar office. Devaraj, identified as A4 in the MUDA case, is the owner of the land under investigation. ED officials searched for records associated with the alleged corruption.

Commenting on the raids, complainant TJ Abraham stated, “The ED’s actions are a positive step. The case against Siddaramaiah is just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more cases to uncover, with around Es 2,000 crores involved in this scam. Corruption has permeated every party, and all involved will be held accountable.”

Another complainant, Snehamai Krishna, highlighted that CM Siddaramaiah had allegedly acquired 14 sites illegally in his wife's name, with the total illegal gains in MUDA amounting to Rs 5,000 crores.

Mysuru MUDA Secretary Prasanna assured cooperation with the ED's investigation. “We will provide all necessary documents requested by the ED,” he confirmed. He also mentioned that the ED would continue its operations in the following days. “We have sought preliminary information about MUDA officials and have been instructed not to comment publicly on the ongoing investigation,” he added.
