The incident took place at a market near Kapilmuni Ashram in Gangasagar. The locals saw black dense smoke coming out of the market. The devastating fire spread in the entire market area. The fire outbreak was so terrible that panic spread in the surrounding area. Before the fire brigade arrived, local residents and traders tried to extinguish the fire. Later, a fire engine arrived at the spot and brought the fire under control in about three hours.
