Panic gripped the crowded area, with eyewitnesses reporting bodies and debris scattered. Ten fire tenders were deployed, and the fire was brought under control by 7:29 pm. Videos from Chandni Chowk Traders’ Association showed the scale of destruction. A Swift car is believed to have caused the blast. The National Investigation Agency reached the site.
The explosion comes hours after Haryana police recovered 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate and weapons from a Kashmiri doctor in Faridabad, part of a 15-day operation that led to the arrest of eight people, including doctors, and the seizure of 2,900 kg explosives linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

According to a senior police officer, "The blast occurred in a moving Hyundai i20 car in which three people were sitting. We have not found any pellet or puncture in the body of the injured, which is unusual in a bomb blast. We are investigating all angles."
Police sources said the car was registered in the name of one Nadeem Khan and bore a Haryana number plate.

Following the car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday, Rajasthan Police have issued a statewide alert to maintain heightened vigilance.
