Exfoliating your scalp moisturises and cleanses the skin. This further helps in the growth of new hair.

Shampooing your hair thrice every week is great for the hair, but did you know that you should exfoliate your scalp too? This process is rarely followed but it’s vital to do this if you want to have a head full of hair. The scalp often gets dry and accumulates dirt which in turn hampers the growth of new hair and what's worse, it makes the existing hair weaker.

If you're wondering how to do this, the good news is that you don't have to make a trip to the salon. You can exfoliate the dead cells from the scalp using scrubs that can be whipped up using ingredients easily available at home.

Clarifying scrub: To make this scrub, use one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of shampoo. Leave it on the scalp for a few minutes and wash it off. Baking soda clear all the clogged hair follicles. This makes it easier for new hairs to grow.

Exfoliating scrub: This is ideal if you're suffering from dandruff. To make this, add water to one or two tablespoons of oats. Make this into a paste and apply it on your scalp and rotate it in circular motion. After this, shampoo and condition your hair.

Cleansing scrub: You only need salt, lemon juice and olive oil to make this. Use two tablespoons of salt and to this, add one or two tablespoons of lemon juice and olive oil. Rinse this off with apple cider vinegar and you will find your hair looking shiny.
