Fresh, fresh, fresh: The best way to have perfect cuppa is to use fresh ingredients – be it a loose leaf or your on-the-go teabags. That makes the world of difference and is applicable to any kind of tea you like. The common factor between all of them is being fresh.

Water: Do not use tap water as they contain a host of minerals which alter the taste of tea. Filtered or boiled or bottled water do not alter the flavour of the tea.

Rolling boil: When you put your kettle on the stove, add fresh cold water, and wait for it to come to a suitable boil. The only exception to this boil rule is if you’re making green or white tea.

Steeping Time: Depending on how light or strong you want your tea to be, steep it accordingly. Green, white and oolong tea should not be steeped for more than three minutes, herbal teas for not more than six minutes and black tea for less than five minutes.

Reuse your teabag: Don’t throw away your used teabags. When you reuse them it could taste better.
