Boiling milk and storing it in the fridge may not always prevent spoilage. From improper cooling to temperature changes, several common mistakes can make milk go bad faster than expected.
After boiling, many of us just leave the milk in the same big pot. Keeping it outside for too long at room temperature lets bacteria grow. Also, if you put this very hot pot straight into the fridge, it can mess with the fridge's internal temperature for a while.

Keep milk in the right container
It's super important to change the container after boiling. You should transfer the milk to a clean, food-safe box with a tight lid. If you have a lot of milk, split it into smaller containers instead of one big one. This helps it cool down much faster and stops it from catching smells from other food in the fridge.

Don't keep milk in the fridge door
So many of us have a habit of keeping milk packets or containers in the fridge door. But every time you open the door, the temperature there changes. You should always place milk on an inner shelf, preferably at the back, where it stays consistently cold.
You don't need to leave milk outside for hours to cool down completely, especially when it's hot. It can spoil very quickly. Just take out the amount you need and put the rest back in the fridge right away. If you notice any sour smell, weird taste, or lumps, it's best to just throw it away.
