The heat is rising fast in South Bengal, with a warning for uncomfortable weather from April 2 to 4. A special bulletin from the weather office says some districts will experience 'Hot and Humid' conditions. This means the sticky, sweaty feeling is not going away anytime soon.

Temperature Will Rise Further Across Bengal

Weather experts say dry winds from the west and north-west are causing this heatwave. Over the next four days, the maximum temperature could slowly climb by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius. It's expected to be 3 to 5 degrees higher than normal for this time of year.

Which districts are on alert?

According to the Alipur Weather Department, from April 2 to 4, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, West Medinipur, Bankura, West Bardhaman, and Purulia will experience hot and humid conditions. Birbhum and Kolkata are also added to the list for April 3 and 4. The weekend is expected to be very hot.

The Humidity Situation

The Alipur Weather Department reports that coastal districts could see maximum relative humidity hit 80 to 90 percent. For inland districts, it will be around 70 to 80 percent. This high humidity, combined with the heat, will make everyone feel extra uncomfortable and sticky.

Discomfort Will Increase in Hot and Humid Weather

This weather will make things very uncomfortable, especially for children, the elderly, and people with existing health issues. The weather department has issued a clear warning: try to stay indoors between 11 am and 4 pm. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
