A cyclonic circulation and a low-pressure belt over South Bengal are making monsoon conditions favourable across the state.

Kolkata's sky will remain mostly cloudy. There's a chance of moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. Today's maximum temperature will be around 32°C and the minimum will be near 27°C. High humidity will cause stuffy, uncomfortable weather if it doesn't rain.

The Alipore weather department predicts that almost all districts in South Bengal will receive some amount of rain on August 10. Districts like Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, and East and West Medinipur have the highest chance of moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms.

Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, Bardhaman, and Nadia may experience light to moderate rainfall. Some areas might also see short spells of gusty winds. The maximum temperature in South Bengal districts will hover between 31°C and 33°C, while the minimum will be between 26°C and 28°C.

The monsoon will be slightly more intense in North Bengal, and a special weather alert has been issued. Malda, and North and South Dinajpur are forecasted to have gusty winds (storms) and intense thundershowers starting from the morning of August 10 for the next 24 hours.

Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar—these districts in the hills and Dooars region—will continue to receive light to moderate rainfall.
