MG Motor India has recently launched its newest offering in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, the MG Comet EV. The vehicle aims to provide a smart and sustainable EV solution for the Indian market. Built on Pure Electric Vehicle Platform, MG Comet EV design is based on the concept of BICO—’Big Inside, Compact Outside’.
The Comet EV was introduced by MG Motor India at an astoundingly low starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) in the nation. By undercutting competitors like the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3, the MG Comet EV is currently the most affordable electric car available on the Indian market. Additionally, the company has released the Comet EV in Gamer edition and LIT edition special editions.
The MG Comet EV's design, which is based on the BICO—"Big Inside, Compact Outside"—concept, is built on the Pure Electric Vehicle Platform. The 4-seater EV will be accessible for test drives starting on April 27. Bookings will open on May 15 with delivery following on the same day.

For simple ingress for passengers in the back seats, the Comet EV's front passenger seat has a one-touch slide and recline feature. The inside of the vehicle has a multi-purpose steering wheel with controls that resemble pods. It has a Rotary Gear Selector, which is essentially a rotary knob with futuristic chrome rings and distinctive patterns.
Electric window control buttons, a 12-Volt charging port, Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, a Floating Twin Display with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, iSmart with 55+ Connected Car Features, 100+ Voice Commands, Smart Start System, and a Digital Bluetooth Key with sharing functionality for up to two people are a few of the standout features in the EV.

Regarding security, the MG Comet EV is outfitted with high-end equipment like dual front airbags, ABS +EBD, front and rear 3-point seat belts, a rear parking camera and sensor, TPMS, and ISOFIX child seats. The 4-seater EV is marketed by a British company as having a high strength vehicle body with 17 hot stamped panels. It has passed 39 rigorous testing for both battery and vehicle safety.
