Synopsis

Many walls in Nandyal constituency now feature graffiti against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ‘Tappu chesavu Babu’ (You have erred Babu) was seen near Railway Quarters in Nandyal town The local and state TDP leaders were disturbed by these slogans

Election preparations for the Nandyal bypoll saw another setback for the ruling Telugu Desam government, this time in the form of graffiti on walls found near Railway quarters in Nandyal Town. Ruling party leaders swung into action and had them removed.

The incident arose out of the recent issue when Chandrababu came to campaign for the Nandyal by-poll. This election has become a prestigious one for Chandrababu and he played every trick in the book to lure the voters. He announced many schemes to attract the voters all to no avail.

During his second visit to Nandyal, some villagers tried to report their problems, he lost his temper and accused them of being part of the opposition party. He also said, “If you don’t like my administration, do not take pensions doled out by my government nor walk on the roads I laid” for which he drew flak even on National television.

Retaliating to his high-handed behaviour, slogans warning him of wrongdoing were written on walls. ‘Tappu chesavu Babu’ (You have erred Babu) written on the walls has become a hot topic in the Nandyal Assembly Constituency.
