In a development that could have a far reaching consequence on the political dynamics shared in Andhra Pradesh between Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), AP CM Chandrababu Naidu returned to the State without meeting PM Modi.
Chandrababu for long had been trying to meet PM Modi and was in fact also given the appointment. But why did he return back without meeting PM Modi? That is the question many are asking in Andhra, why did Chandrababu not meet the CM, instead he just met with the Home Minister and returned.
At the same time, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who was also in Delhi met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
It is to be noted that Chandrababu is an experienced politician and can guess a political scene from afar.
His political career till date shows his experience in dealing with various issues and using circumstances for his own benefit. He was able to identify the direction in which the Delhi politics is flowing and returned with just meeting the Home Minister while KCR leisurely completed all his meetings.
The National Democratic Alliance saw new alliances forming and old alliances being broken. The very first tweet after Nitish Kumar resigned as Bihar CM came from PM Modi appreciating him for fighting against corruption and joining in his campaign against corruption.
Though BJP lost Bihar election, it now formed a government through its shrewd politics. Chandrababu, on the other hand, is immersed in corruption charges regarding the new capital, Amaravathi.
YS Jaganmohan Reddy has even submitted documents to the President and PM on the corruption in Amaravathi. Jagan submitted details of land bought by TDP leaders around Amaravathi in his ‘insider trading’ report, contractors details and Vishnu Kumar Raju’s land scam in Visakhapatnam.
Many BJP senior leaders like Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, Purandeswari, Somu Veeraju also sent details of corruption in the state to the centre.
In his recent visit to Vijayawada, BJP Secretary Amit Shah carried documents of corruption reports.
In all probability, PM Modi might have considered it safe to keep TDP government and Chandrababu at a distance. And now only time will tell us, for how BJP will pursue its alliance with TDP?
