The body of a 52-year-old woman was found at her house in Kumbala, Kasargod. No one knew about the death till her son, who is studying at Periyadukka, returned home on August 11.

The incident is much similar to the one reported last week, where an IT professional returned from the US to find his mother's skeletal remains in the house.

The deceased has been identified as Ayesha. His son Basit, 19, had come home on Sunday but returned after finding that the house was locked. He is studying at a Darz, an Islamic education centre, in Periyadukka, about 15 km from the house.

Ayesha used to work as a help and when the house was locked Basit thought that she would have gone to some nearby homes for work and so he returned. Though later he tried to contact her several times she was not available on the phone.

So Basit decided to get back to home on Friday. He reached home at late night and found that it was locked from inside.

He tried to call her, and when she did not respond even after several attempts, the boy broke the window glass of bed room. He found Ayesha lying on the floor and sought help from neighbours.

Police are yet to confirm the reason behind her death. Ayesha and her son are from Hubli in Karnataka and had been living in the place for past 11 years.
