Kochi woman chops off companion's genitals in Malappuram lodge

In another bobbiting case reported from Kerala, the police have arrested a young woman in Malappuram after she allegedly cut off a man's genitals in a lodge.
The victim has been identified as Irshad, 26, a native of Purathur. The owner of the lodge reportedly found him outside his room with blood-strewn clothes on Thursday. He immediately took the injured man to a nearby hospital.
The initial probe revealed that the woman had chopped off the genitals of the man in their room. The victim and the woman had checked into the lodge in Kuttipuram the previous day.
The woman, who hails from Perumbavoor, is currently in police custody and facing interrogation. More details are awaited.
This is the second bobbiting case reported from the state this year after godman Sreehari aka Swami Gangeshananda had his genitals chopped off by a 23-year-old law student, alleging rape, in Thiruvananthapuram. The controversial case, which grabbed national headlines, has undergone a few twists and turns since the incident took place on May 18.
Meanwhile, in a similar attack, unknown assailants assaulted a young Congress leader in Thiruvananthapuram last week and caused severe injuries to his private parts.
