Does this statement by Rimi Tomy prove Dileep was lying the whole time?

Singer-cum-anchor Rimi Tomy has denied being a suspect in the Kochi actress attack after reports emerged today that the police questioned her in connection with the case recently.

In a phone conversation with a news channel, Rimi came out strongly, denying any wrongdoing from her part and also stressed that she was not part of any financial or land deals with Dileep or his wife Kavya Madhavan.

However, Rimi also revealed that she had called Kavya immediately after she got to know about the abduction and assault through news channels that evening (February 17).

"As soon as I saw it on the news, I rang up Kavya Madhavan and spoke to her." 

"I also sent a message to the victim of the attack. I never had any issues with her. I had spoken to her and her friend Remya Nambeesan in the following days" the singer can be heard saying.

However, this statement contradicts Dileep's version that he got to know about the attack only the following day.

When questioned before his arrest on July 10, the actor had told the probe team that he knew about the incident only after 9 am the next day, through a phone call from a colleague. The police later found that the call in question only lasted 12 seconds.

If Rimi had called Kavya the same evening and discussed the incident, the chances of Dileep not knowing about it till a day later is highly unlikely, considering the utmost gravity of the incident.

An abduction and attack of such scale was unprecedented in Malayalam film industry. The victim was a prominent actress across the south India industries and had acted with Dileep in numerous films and was also part of the actor's Dileep Show tour back in 2010.
