Chalakkudy murder: Advocate Udayabhanu named seventh accused
- Advocate Udayabhanu had been named seventh accused in a murder case
- High Court told police not to arrest him till October 23 but gave permission for interrogation
- The single bench also gave permission to include victim's son as party to the case
Kerala police have named advocate C P Udayabhanu as the seventh accused in the case related to the murder of a real estate agent, Rajeev. The investigating officials have got evidence to prove that Udayabhanu had talked to the victim seven times over the phone.
The police submitted the details of the phone call between the advocate and accused persons before the court in a sealed cover.
The High Court will consider the bail plea submitted by the advocate next week. Meanwhile, the court has granted permission to the police to issue a notice to the advocate for questioning. However, the single bench has prevented the arrest of the advocate till October 23.

Meanwhile, the court also granted permission to the police to add Rajeev's son as party in the case.
The investigating officials have also got CCTV visuals proving that Udayabhanu had visited Rajeev at his home on various occasions. It is evident in the visuals that the duo used to have discussions.

Police have also found evidence to prove that Rajeev and Udayabhanu were friends since they started real estate deals. It is suspected that the relationship turned sour over a financial dispute related to land deals.
