Sasikala left prison to visit MLAs house in Hosur claims DIG Roopa in ACB report

Karnataka Deputy Inspector General of Police D Roopa, in a report to the ACB had only a day before  claimed that she has video proof that Sasikala and Illavarasi went out of the Parappana Agrahara premises.

She also has alleged that a corridor in the prison had been barricaded for Sasikala’s use. According to a report in PTI she also alleged that when Sasikala and Ilavarasi went out of prison they went to a Hosur MLA’s house near the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

"There is a reliable information that she (Sasikala) sometimes goes to a house near the central jail that belongs to a Hosur MLA. This may be further ascertained by footages of CCTV cameras placed at the entrance of the jail and the cameras placed in between gate 1 and gate 2 of the jail," Roopa said in her report submitted to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

The DIG said she had submitted videos exposing special treatment given to Sasikala in the prison.

The CCTV shows, former superintendent of women's prison enters the prisons first. She is followed by Sasikala who was wearing a salwar kameez and is shown entering the prisons holding a shopping bag with Ilavarasi. As they enter, male guards are also seen.

It may be recalled here that IPS officer Roopa who was then the DIG of Parappana Agrahara prisons had raised a storm by alleging that Sasikala was given a 'VIP' treatment in the jail. She had also levelled serious allegations on prisons officials including DGP Satyanarayana Rao of taking bribe from Sasikala for the 'VIP treatment'. Following her allegations, the government had appointed an inquiry committee led by retired IAS officer Vinay Kumar and the panel has submitted its interim report.
