The rebel JD(S) leader B.Z Zameer Ahmed Khan who is now romancing with the Congress party says Congress goes by its words and is hopeful that all the seven JDS rebel leaders who are set to say good bye to Janata Dal Secular will be given 'tickets' to contest in the 2018 elections.

Speaking exclusively to Asianet Newsable B.Z Zameer Ahmed Khan recalled his August 17,  9 pm meet with KC Venugopal Karnataka Congress party incharge and CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Congress President Dr G Parameshwar  with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi. He said he was assured that the leaders who helped the Congress candidate during MLC election would be accommodated in Congress and a position would be given.

"Rahul Gandhiji spoke to all the seven rebel leaders and asked about our interest and our constituencies from where we came. He said we would be given tickets," said Khan.

Khan recalled an example where Congress proved that they would live up to the promise by giving  an MP ticket to BJP leader HT Sangliana to contest from Bengaluru Central. The position was earlier held by former union minister CK Jaffer Sharief. Sharief had been asked to leave his post for Sangliana. Khan said, "The Congress goes by what it says".

This statement is nothing but an insult to injury to JDS which is still considered as 'traitors' among voters. In 2006 HD Kumaraswamy along with BJP legislators had formed a government based on 20:20 month administration formula. The deal had been with the Congress.  Once Kumaraswamy completed his term as Chief Minister, he did a U-turn and withdrew the support, hence the government had to be dissolved, and elections were held in six months which ultimately helped BJP cross the 100 threshold and first for time in the history formed BJP government in south India in 2008 by using this 'traitor remark against JDS'.
