Finally the BBMP has woken up after a couple lost their lives due to the potholes on Bengaluru roads. Mayor Sampath Raj has given 10 days deadline to the officers to fill the potholes.

Following the death of Sagai Mary and Antony in Bengaluru on the wee hours of October 3, the Mayor has strictly ordered officers concerned to make the Bengaluru roads pothole free within 10 days.

According to the BBMP sources, at least 10 percent of deaths on road occur due to potholes. This news made Mayor Sampath Raj act with immediate effect. He called a meeting of officers from eight zones.

The officers also had come prepared with statistics. They said that Bengaluru roads have 16,818 potholes. The mayor has currently given 10 days deadline to set the problem right.

Over the months, the number of potholes in Bengaluru has increased immensely.
