Restaurateurs, hotel staff declare war on single-use plastic at Clean-A-Thon event in Bengaluru

To send out a message that states they are here to help the BBMP and refrain from employing single-use plastic, hotels and restaurants associated with National Restaurants Association of India joined hands with public in Indiranagar and Koramangala and picked up waste from the streets. By the end of the event, about 1,700 bags of single-use plastic was collected.
 

At a time when Bengaluru is getting choked up with plastic waste that is banned by BBMP, staff of hotels and restaurants held a Clean-A-Thon event to provide the city some ease. The purpose of the event was held to also send a message that they do and will continue to follow solid waste management rules.

Members associated with National Restaurants Association of India instructed their members and staff to spread awareness among public and also refrain from serving harmful single-use plastic which is an environmental hazard.

MLA Ramalinga Reddy and many leaders also appreciated and joined the initiative of NRAI members in Koramangala, Indiranagar. Out of 1628 bags, the banned plastic waste alone contributed to 754 bags.
