As the counting of Karnataka Assembly election speeds  up, so far 13 ministers in Siddaramaiah's government have lost the election

Geetha Mahadev Prasad, a debutant in politics, is the new MLA of Gundlupet Constituency. She defeated her BJP counterpart Niranjan Kumar by a margin of over 11,000 votes. The by-election in Gundlupet was conducted as Geetha’s husband Mahadev Prasad, who was in the Congress party Cabinet had an untimely death due to cardiac arrest.

Nanjangud and Gundlupet are gearing up for a by-election in Karnataka. Both BJP and Congress have taken it as a matter of prestige to win the constituencies. Gundlupet contestant from Congress, Geetha Mahadev Prasad recently shed tears claiming that BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa had insulted her.
