Shape of You by Ed Sheeran has spawned off a dozen covers, spoofs, dances, and more. Interestingly, you never get tired of the numerous versions that come out. This Carnatic version will leave you wanting to listen to it on loop.

It’s safe to say that the world is not done with Ed’s monster hit Shape of You. Several artists have covered this song and with each cover, we only grow fonder of the song.

Meet Aditya Rao, Vinod Krishnan and Mahesh Raghvan from MIT who revamped Shape of You with some Carnatic vocals and it’s every music lover’s dream. We can say with utmost certainty, this version will make you fall in love with Classical music all over again.

The video was posted on the Facebook page of Indian Raga, a music education startup founded at MIT and has been viewed over a million times already. A beautiful sun-bathed New York City, makes for the backdrop and the music is almost entirely digitally produced, but somehow manages to retain its earthiness with the Carnatic notes.
