The landing had given China the distinction of being the first country to orbit, land and release a rover in its maiden mission to Mars.

The first batch of 100 oxygen concentrators, 40 ventilators and other anti-epidemic supplies donated by the Red Cross Society of China arrived in India on a Chinese cargo flight from Chengdu, China.

China Manned Space Engineering Office said that the remnants of the rocket re-entered the Earth's atmosphere at 10.24 am Beijing time (07:54 IST) and fell at 72.47 degrees east longitude and 2.65 degrees north latitude.

Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China posted two photos on Weibo, which showed a rocket and mass cremation of bodies in India with the caption -- "Lighting a Fire in China Vs Lighting a Fire in India". 

In 2020 alone, over 1700 Japan-invested firms and manufacturers pulled out of China after then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe rolled out measures to incentivise manufacturing within the country and, at the same time, diversifying into other Southeast Asian countries.

Hours after authorities in Brazil found that the Chinese vaccine was only 50.7% effective against the variant in the country, Gao Fu, the director of the Chinese Center of Disease Control, said that inoculation using vaccines of different technical lines is being considered.

In a rare admission of the weakness of Chinese coronavirus vaccines, the country’s top disease control official says their effectiveness is low and the government is considering mixing them to get a boost.

"The two sides had a detailed exchange of views for the resolution of the remaining issues related to disengagement along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh," the defence ministry said about Friday's talks that lasted about 13 hours.

"We may not be able to fully catch up with China. So we are trying to develop some kind of a relationship with Western nations and see how better we can get some support from them during peacetime at least, which will help us to overcome this deficiency," Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat.

Confirming the development, a senior Army officer said, "The talks will be held in the Chushul sector on the Indian side."
