BJP candidate Rinku Naskar faces obstruction of police during campaigning in Jadavpur

BJP candidate Rinku Naskar was obstructed by the police while campaigning in Panchsair of Jadavpur assembly constituency. BJP candidate Rinku Naskar alleged that the police had even obstructed the campaign. 

However, the BJP candidate went ahead with her campaign by removing the police guardrail. Police argued that the BJP candidate was detained for fear of riots.

There are several high-voltage centers this year. Jadavpur assembly constituency is one of them. CPIM candidate Sujan Chakraborty won the 2016 assembly elections. At that time, the influence of the BJP in the state was not that prevalent. But since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has emerged as an opposition party in the state.

However, Babul Supriyo has accused the police of creating fear in the minds of people. Meenakshi Mukherjee, a youth leader of CPIM, a candidate of the United Front in Nandigram, was barred from campaigning on Sunday (March 28). On Monday (March 29), Rinku Naskar, a BJP candidate from Jadavpur, who joined the BJP from the left, accused the police of obstructing the campaign.

Allegedly, BJP candidate Rinku Naskar started campaigning from the front door of Peerless Hospital. But when they reached the Panchsayar area, the campaign was obstructed. 

In this regard, Rinku Naskar said, "There is no need to get separate permission from the police during the election. I went to campaign as an election candidate. But we are obstructed. There will be no benefit in this way.”
