Captain Amarinder said he was deeply hurt by the conduct of the Congress President and her children.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday officially resigned from the Congress party. In a letter to Interim President Sonia Gandhi, Captain Amarinder said he was deeply hurt by the conduct of the Congress President and her children.

In his seven-page letter, Captain Amarinder said that despite his profound reservations and over the unanimous advice of almost all the MPs from Punjab, Sonia chose to appoint an 'acolyte' of the Pakistani deep state Navjot Sidhu who had publically hugged the Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He went on to state that Sidhu's only claim to fame was that he would abuse him and his government on a regular basis and that despite being old enough to be his father, the latter did not refrain from using the filthiest and most vile language against him publically.

Captain Amarinder said that the unfortunate part of the saga is that instead of being reined in, he was patronised by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, and Sonia chose to turn a blind eye. This, Captain Amarinder, was abetted by Harish Rawat, who he claimed was the most dubious individual he had ever met.

He even called out the midnight conspiracy against him by Sonia and her children who called a Congress Legislature Party party meeting in the dead of the night through Twitter. Captain Amarinder said he was being belittled and that the party had humiliated a self-respecting old soldier. Stating that he did not bat an eyelid when asked to resign the following day, Captain Amarinder said that the whole operation carried out by the undertakers of the All India Congress Committee left a very foul taste in the mouth.

Stating that Sonia may be regretting now for having decided to back a person like Sidhu, who he claimed has an unstable mind. Accusing those who have been criticising him for taking up the farmers' cause with the BJP government at the Centre of double standards, Captain Amarinder said that these people did not think twice before "getting into bed" with the Shiv Sena when it suited them.
