PIL filed against constructions around Hussain Sagar

Synopsis

Senior Congress leader Marri Sasidhar Reddy has filed a PIL in High Court against construction of buildings around Hussain Sagar FTL limits The HC acting chief justice accepted the PIL on Tuesday HC issued notices to the Telangana government and GHMC in this regard

Telangana government is working on constructing buildings in the Full Tank Limits of Hussain Sagar. In this regard senior Congress leader Marri Sasidhar Reddy went for a judicial battle. He filed a PIL in the high court against constructions around Hussain Sagar.

The acting chief justice of the high court accepted the PIL and issued notices to the GHMC and Telangana government to submit full details to the court within a week.  

The High Court then postponed the hearing to next Tuesday. According to the Supreme Court orders of 2005, no constructions should be taken up inside or the surrounding area of Hussain Sagar.

Marri said that he had to go to court when the government decided to build constructions around Hussain Sagar and they were making preparations to do so irrespective of Supreme Court orders. If not the double bedroom housing scheme of Ambedkarnagar would be hampered. He expressed his grief over the injustice towards those who had been forcibly vacated.
