The govt has set a target to roll out its 'Toilet Locator' initiative across 85 cities by 2 October, according to a report by The Times of India. Under this new initiative, people can download the application and simply tap Google Maps on their smartphones and it will help locate a public toilet nearby.

The list of cities to soon become a part of the 'Mission Toilet Locator' include Agra, Ajmer, Ahmedabad, Bhilai Nagar, Bhubaneswar, Dhanbad, Greater Mumbai, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Kochi, Vijaywada and Greater Bengaluru. The app named Swachh Bharat Toilet Locator isn't just about locating toilets, but also rating them in terms of hygiene, infrastructure, safety, seat type and so on.

The report further adds that municipal bodies can 'engage Quality Council of India (QCI)' into mapping public toilets, collecting data on public and community toilets and setting up help desk services in the city.

The app encourages you to give feedback and submit new toilet locations for public use. Navigation within the app using Google Maps lets you reach at the exact location whether you are travelling by foot or in a vehicle.

The app is available to download on the Google Play Store.
