Synopsis

The four-year-old girl went missing from her house on August 3 Primary assumption is that she might have slipped into the drainage in front of the house There were rumours that some rag pickers could have kidnapped Sana

Six days after a four-year-old girl went missing under mysterious circumstances from Puthur in Kasargod the state has sought the help of Disaster Response Force. The team will conduct a search in Bappunkayam river using underwater cameras.

Sana Fathima went missing from her house at 4 pm on August 3. She stepped out of the house after returning from Anganwadi and was not seen after that.

There were heavy rains on the day, and her mother and grandmother was at home when the girl disappeared, the family members said.

The police, fire and rescue services and local people are searching from the evening onwards, but to no avail.

The primary assumption is that the child might have slipped into the drainage in front of the house as her slippers and an umbrella was found nearby. The police had searched the drainage and nearby Chandragiri river, but there was no trace of the girl.

The State Disaster Response Force will use scuba cameras that can capture images as deep as hundred metres below water.

Meanwhile, there were rumours that some rag pickers could have kidnapped Sana. However, police had not found any evidence about this as well.

The district collector has issued a strict warning against social media messages that claimed that the child had been located. The messages caused confusion among the team.
