The apex court also extended the parole till August 19, extending it by four days. The court had earlier granted him parole for 14 days from August 1 to 14. Karnataka government had asked the PDP leader to bear the security expenses for the period, and he had agreed to the term.
However, the government slapped Rs 15 lakh towards expenses and Madani decided to approach Supreme Court stating that he won't be able to bear the exorbitant amount and it is the duty of the state to ensure security to remand prisoners.
