Kollam horror continues: Minor boy dead, subjected to brutal abuse

Synopsis

Relatives claimed the boy committed suicide as he was upset at not being taken to a function But the autopsy report confirmed that the 13-year-old was subjected to unnatural sex

The boy was found hanging at his home in Punaloor on Sunday. His relatives had claimed he committed suicide as he was upset at not being taken to a function at his sister's school.

However, the autopsy report which reached the police on Thursday confirmed that the minor boy was subjected to unnatural sex. The boy was alone at home on the day of the incident.

The Kollam police, who were accused of laxity in the Kundara girl's death probe, are understood to have acted swiftly and promptly in this case.

The probe team has already questioned the child's parents, relatives, neighbours and friends. The officers revealed that they would use all available forensic methods including DNA tests to bring out the truth in the case.

This is the fourth incident of sexual abuse against minors reported from Kollam this past week. A Kundara man was found to have abused his granddaughter for years, which led to the girl's death, in a case that shocked the state.

In another case, a 16-year-old actress was gang-raped at an apartment in the city, while a priest has been arrested for abusing a 14-year-old boy in Puthoor.
