After Kerala Health Minister warned of dire consequences, private hospitals, which had earlier threatened a shut down from Monday withdraw from their decision. The hospital managements said that they had not taken such a decision.
Confederation of Private Hospital Association said that if any hospital management has taken such a decision, it is their personal opinion, and the Association has nothing to do with that.
"Maybe one or two hospitals, who are members of the association might have taken such a decision. However, the association has not given the nod to any protest by shutting down hospitals," they said.
The hospital managements had earlier informed that they would shut down general, and the private out the patient department's from Monday. They had also said that even intensive care units would function only under emergency situations.
The hospitals resorted to the pressure tactics to deals with nurses who are striking demanding wage hike. A hospital in Kasargod even dismissed six nurses and threatened to shut down their hostel as they took part in the strike.
