Authorities of St. Michaels College Cherthala have complained that an excise official from the area had approached them seeking admission for his son. He had contacted the management twice and was informed that the application would be considered.

However, on July 5, four excise officials came to the college and conducted a raid in the chemistry lab and seized ethyl kept for the educational purpose. College authorities were further informed that the offence invites ten years imprisonment, but the officials will help the management escape if they are ready to give admission to the boy.

Following this, College administration filed a complaint with the Chief Minister and Excise Commissioner Rishiraj Singh.

Excise Commissioner asked Alappuzha Deputy Excise Commissioner to file a report.
