A man got so drunk that he left his four-year-old daughter on the train.

The Selam native and his daughter had boarded Shalimar-Nagercoil train and had taken the ticket to Palakkad. He started having alcohol as soon as he got on the train and soon passed out. They were on their way to his wife house at Vadakkanchery. When he got up, the train had already passed their destination and had reached Thrissur. On realising this he got out at the station but forgot to take the child with him.

As the girl began to cry, passengers informed ticket examiner. The child did not know Malayalam and was speaking in Tamil. As the officials failed to find anyone accompanying the child, they informed the matter to Railway Protection Force (RPF) and handed over the kid to CI Sabu Jacob at Kottayam police station.

The RPF then handed over the child to Childline officials who informed the police. The police launched a search and soon found the parents.
