In another crucial development in the Kochi actress attack case, the police have reportedly gathered more evidence against actor Dileep, who has been accused of conspiracy in the case.

The probe team has recorded the confidential statements of two persons who were allegedly witnesses to Dileep and prime accused Pulsar Suni meeting and holding conversations on the sets of his last release Georgettan's Pooram, which started rolling last year, according to Asianet News.

The development could be crucial in the case as Dileep has always maintained that he did not know Suni before. However, it is not clear if the any of the two persons were a witness to any conversations about the plan to attack the actress.

Meanwhile, the police have strengthened the search for Dileep's manager Appunni and Pulsar Suni's initial lawyer Pratheesh Chacko. Appunni had gone missing soon after Dileep was arrested on July 10, while Pratheesh is also absconding now.

It is understood that Appunni and Pratheesh know more details about the conspiracy. The probe team wants to bring Appunni in before Dileep's counsel files for his bail plea at the High Court.

Six persons, including Dileep, have been arrested in connection with the incident so far. After his arrest, Dileep has been expelled from various film forums, including the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), as the industry rallied behind the actress.

The police in its remand report had claimed that Dileep had developed a grudge against the actress for letting his former wife know about his alleged affairs and hatched a conspiracy to take revenge way back in 2013.
