CPM MLA AN Shamseer visited the house of Muhammad Shafi, who is the fifth accused in the murder of RMP leader TP Chandrasekharan, on Thursday to wish him on his marriage.
Shamseer, who is also DYFI state president, visited Shafi's house near Chokli in Kannur ahead of his marriage on Friday. Photos showing Shamseer at Shafi's house have caused an outrage on social media as the CPM is still denying any role in the TP murder.
Shamseer had also filed a defamation case against several RMP leaders including TP's wife KK Rema for accusing him of having links with Shafi and the other accused.
TP was killed in May 2012, and the police arrested Shafi and the other accused in June the same year. Though Shafi has been in jail for the past five years he was allowed parole for his wedding.
