Actress attack: Police to name Dileep second accused, Manju Warrier key witness

The probe team is preparing to file the additional charge sheet in the case, with Dileep as the second accused The police have 90 days to file the charge sheet but they are planing to do it before that as Dileep's counsel will soon submit another bail plea Dileep's former wife and the victim's close friend Manju Warrier remains one of the key witnesses in the case 

The police are reportedly set to name actor Dileep the second accused in the Kochi actress attack case.

The probe team is preparing to file the additional charge sheet in the case, with Dileep named as the second accused. The actor was arrested on charges of conspiracy last month and remanded to judicial custody.

The police have 90 days to file the charge sheet but they are planing to do it before that as Dileep's counsel will soon submit another bail plea in the High Court. The prosecution is confident that the probe team has enough evidence against Dileep to nail him.

Meanwhile, Dileep's former wife and the victim's close friend Manju Warrier remains one of the key witnesses in the case. Manju was aware of the grudge that Dileep held against the victim for years. The actor strongly believed that the victim played a huge part in Manju's decision to part ways with him.

Dileep was only the eleventh accused in the initial charge sheet. Pulsar Suni, who kidnapped and assaulted the actress, remains the prime accused in the case.

There are 13 accused in the case overall, which include the perpetrators, the conspirators and those who allegedly destroyed the evidence such as the memory card which contained the visuals of the attack.
