Thiruvananthapuram: Get ready for some rough seas. An alert has been issued for the Kerala coast, warning of potential sea surges on Monday. The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) announced that as part of the 'Kallakkadal' phenomenon, high waves ranging from 0.9 to 1.3 meters could hit the coast until 11:30 PM on Monday. Due to this, fishermen and coastal residents have been advised to be extremely cautious.
Here are the safety guidelines issued:
1. If you are in a high-risk area, please move to a safer location as directed by the authorities.
2. Avoid taking small boats and dinghies out to sea during this period.

5. Securely tie up all fishing vessels (boats, dinghies, etc.) in the harbour. Keep a safe distance between boats to prevent them from crashing into each other. Make sure all fishing equipment is also secured.
6. Completely avoid trips to the beach and any recreational activities in the sea.
7. Be extra vigilant about coastal erosion, as the strong waves can wash away the shoreline.
