
Piravom: A B.Tech student from Chinmaya University's Onakkoor campus has died in a tragic road accident at Onakkoor Karayogappadi. The victim has been identified as Adithyan Arunkumar, who was just 20 years old.
Adithyan was the son of Arunkumar Sasidharan and Priju Prasannakumar from Ushassil, Thadikkavu, in Anchal, Kollam. He was a student of B.Tech Computer Science (Cyber Security). The person riding the bike, Ian George Varghese (20), from Mangalath in Anchalpetty, was also injured in the crash.

The accident happened on Friday around 12 noon. Reports say the two students had left their campus and gone to the Onakkoor Palam junction. From there, they took the bike towards Piravom.

They were on their way back when the accident took place. Their bike clipped a car that was coming out from the Onakkoor temple road, causing the rider to lose control. Adithyan, who was riding pillion, was thrown off and his head slammed into a nearby electric pole.
The impact was so severe that his helmet broke, and he suffered fatal head injuries. Both students were immediately rushed to the Piravom Taluk Hospital, but doctors declared Adithyan Arunkumar dead on arrival. Ian George Varghese, who is a third-year BBA student at Chinmaya University, is being treated for a leg injury.
