A labourer who was working on the electric pole at Nagamanagala in Mandya came in contact with electricity and just before he was electrocuted people gathered made him fall off the cable and pole by a stick.

Labourer climbed an electric pole on Sunday evening at Bellur in Nagamangala as the department had planned to shift the electric pole.

The victim is identified as Kumar of Arasegowdanakoppalu. He was working on the electric pole when there was a supply of power and Kumar started struggling as he came in contact with the electricity.

Immediately people took a long stick and pushed him from the electric pole. Though Kumar fell on the ground, his life was saved.

He was taken to AIMS Hospital in BG Nagar and was given treatment. Kumar is now out of danger, and the presence of mind saved his life.

The people have alleged that this incident occurred due to the negligence of the BESCOM, which started supplying power to the pole where work was going on.

Another thing to note here is that at a time when people start taking footages of whatever happens than helping the dying man/woman, this incident provides some hope that humanity is still alive.
