BBMP polls: Onus on Kumaraswamy to convince coalition with Congress

The JD(S) Supremo and former prime minister and JD(S) national president HD Deve Gowda has handed over the responsibility of deciding the Congress-JD(S) coalition with regard to Mayoral elections of BBMP to JD(S) State president HD Kumaraswamy, reports Kannada Prabha.

Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy had visited HD Deve Gowda at his residence in Padmanabhanagar recently to discuss coalition between Congress and JD(S). Deve Gowda clearly mentioned that Kumaraswamy has been given the responsibility of taking decision in this regard. Speaking to newspersons later, Deve Gowda said Kumaraswamy will take the final decision in this regard. The Mayoral elections will be held on Sept 28. Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy stated that he was not aware of the meeting of Ramalinga Reddy and Deve Gowda. However, he said that the party has entrusted him with responsibilities to talk to Kupendra Reddy and others to finalise the coalition before the elections.
