Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and family completed the 9th Amavasye – new moon – Pooja at the Srikalabhairaveshwara Swamy temple at Adi Chunchanagiri mutt, Mandya district, on Wednesday. This being the special Mahalaya Amavasye, the Pooja had special significance. Former minister and MLA HD Revanna, his wife Bhavani, son Dr Suraj were present at the temple, reports Kannada Prabha.
The Pooja was performed by Adichunchanagiri seer Nirmalanandanatha Swamy. The family visited the Nagadevathe, Kalabhairaveshwara Swamy and also the resting place of Dr Balagangadharanatha Swamy.
Deve Gowda and family has been regularly conducting Amavasya Pooja since January. It can be recalled here that Deve Gowda has been regularly conducting poojas and homas to appease the gods.
