The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has decided to stay away from an interaction session organised by the Citizens for Bengaluru regarding the Bengaluru transport and Cantonment Metro Station, reports Kannada Prabha.
The BMRCL has taken a stand not to respond to the media with regard to Cantonment Metro line. It has refused to stay away from the interaction organised on Saturday because both print and visual media are participating in it. Hence, it has decided to stay away and conveyed that to the organisers in a written statement, it is reported.
The Namma Bengaluru Foundation CEO Sridhar Pabbisetty has condemned the BMRCL's stand and termed it as ridiculous. The BMRCL is staying away in the pretext of media’s presence, when actually it is functioning on public money. The comprehensive project report of this project must be made public and the reason for shifting the Metro Station must be explained to Bengalureans, he demanded.
MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar also expressed surprise at the BMRCL’s stand. "It is shocking and surprising that BMRCL has backed out because the media is participating. It is inexcusable and not acceptable," he observed.
