12 districts report heavy downpour, 5 dead

Heavy rain is reported from all over the State. Almost all regions - Malnad, Coatsal area, even the dry land areas Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Chitradurga, Mandya, Mysuru, Tumakuru, North Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu and other districts have reported good rainfall, reports Kannada Prabha.

A woman Eramma Nagamma (28) travelling by a bullock cart died when she was hit by lightning in Kalaburagi. In Tumakuru district, a woman Manjula T (29) died when the wall of the cowshed collapsed on her. In Belagavi district, Malagali village three students died due to lightning. In Chitradurga, one hour of heavy downpour between 3 pm and 4 pm resulted in floods.
